Introducing Me: the sunshine loving, serendipitous searching Sarah :)

 Welcome to My Blog!

Creating this has been on my mind for a while but I haven't had access to my own laptop for over a year. As you could imagine, that makes trying to write a blog pretty difficult. I am happy to announce that we have recently been reunited (and I don't plan on separating again any time soon) which means I can finally start sharing my stories with you! If you take the time to read this, just know I love you. I'm guessing the only people that will read this are my mom and maybe a few of the people closest to me- and probably still not most of them. Reading a full blog post is a lot to expect of anyone in this world of instant gratification we live in I suppose. But if you are miraculously someone that's not my mom reading this, that's really freaking cool! I appreciate you:) (and you too mom, of course<3).

I'm mostly writing this for myself with no intention of gaining followers or however that would work on a blog which I have zero clue about (and I hope that proves my point haha). I've been lucky enough to live a pretty fantastic life so far -at least through my own eyes- and I want to better document it.

And if you'd like to come along for the journey, then you're more than welcome. I have no idea where we are going or even where we're starting, but I prefer to live that way. I think all the best things in life are unexpected and unplanned. You can't plan for serendipity. But you can chase the sunshine, and I've found so far in my life that the two seem to go hand in hand.

Who Am I? Why Am I Here?

These are two questions I ask myself all the time. I also often find myself playing 'How Did I Get Here' by ODEZSA in my head anytime I'm in a situation I just never could have imagined (which is often!). And if you haven't heard that song, you need to go check it out. It's the perfect soundtrack for those of us who are explorers at heart.

I'm Sarah. 24 years old, healthy, generally happy and optimistic. I love to read and practice yoga. I want reignite my love for writing (and that's how I got here!). Travel has been the most soul awakening, character building adventure of my life and I have no idea who I would be if I hadn't decided to venture across the world on my own at seventeen. One thing I've learned from traveling is that it's never really the place but always the people that make it beautiful.

And I do truly believe that we could debate all day why we are here. But I think it's as simple as experiencing and connecting with other human beings (and animals for that matter!). We are here to be a part of everything and anything we can. We are here to feel until we break down in tears or laugh our way into hysterics. We are here to hold each other and guide each other and most importantly remind each other how beautiful it is to be alive and able to look into another person's eyes and see yourself looking back.

Who I am, who you are- the specifics don't matter. Its the humanness that I care about. That love that I do believe lives somewhere inside of every human being. The ability to move and breathe and age and create and fear and change and learn and fail and try again- this is who we all are. This is what connects us together and makes it so blatantly obvious to me that we are all little pieces of something so much bigger than any of us could ever comprehend individually. And we are all so so so important.

I guess I'm here really to share stories that help remind us of our similarities rather than shouting out our differences as we so often see these days on the news and social media. If I can do anything, I hope my stories remind you of the love that exists in this world and the infinite ways in which we can all interact with it.

I hope I can inspire at least one person to follow their heart, take the leap, and live the life that is calling to them. Because we all have our own unique paths calling out to us. We just have to be brave enough to follow that call.

And when we do, the serendipitous moments begin to multiply infinitely and the sunshine is never too far away:)
